This Field Recording EP was created during a residency with MSU's W.K. Kellogg Biological Station. The Sound and Science program pairs musicians with the sounds of machines, natural habitats, and conversations of the researchers throughout the year. It is a pairing rooted in discovery, curiosity, observation, and exploration.

The project was originally commissioned as a single piece, but I was inspired diversity of the sounds I was given. Rather than distill that experience into one composition, I wanted to do it justice by creating a small EP. A journey through the day and evening sounds of a environmental scientist.

These pieces serve as brief vignettes into the sonic world surrounding the researchers who are at the forefront of discovering thoughtful and impactful ways we can steward, understand, and deepen our relationship with the natural world.

I am grateful that they entrusted me with this experience. Enjoy
